On July 24, the White House issued final guidance for lobbying administration officials on ARRA-related competitive funding. The guidance bans oral communications with agency officials about specific Recovery Act projects from the time a competitive application is submitted until the awards are made. It also applies the ban to all nonfederal employees. Previously, the prohibition only applied to registered lobbyists. More >>

The Office of Federal Relations has developed a chart (as of Nov. 5) which provides the status of the federal appointment process for agency positions by President Obama that are identified as important to higher education. The chart will be updated as more information becomes available.
