About Federal Relations

The IU Office of Federal Relations manages and coordinates the interaction between the university and its divisions and the Legislative and Executive Branches of the federal government. The daily responsibilities of the Director are chiefly concentrated within three overarching duties of the Office. These duties are: to work closely with the eleven-member Indiana Congressional delegation on legislation and federal policies which help advance the university's strategic goals; to expand the university's visibility among Executive Branch officials and strategically engage with the Office of Research to identify, modify and create opportunities to increase federal agency support; and to effectively address federal regulatory policies which would impact operations. The Office of Federal Relations serves the entire university structure, from the Board of Trustees to the student body, and each of the individual campuses.
