Student Advisory Board

Nine Indiana University students serve annual terms on the Advisory Board to Government Relations and Hoosiers for Higher Education. The Board meets four times during the academic year. The board is charged with developing a student outreach plan for the year, coordinating student recruitment efforts, developing new advocacy initiatives to be used by students in their grassroots efforts to influence governmental policy, and to provide student feedback regarding specific points of pride or concern to the Office of Government Relations.

If you are interested in serving on the Advisory Board please submit your resume to hhe@indiana.edu by November 17, 2007. Please title the subject of your email “SAB Application.”

If you wish to nominate another student for a seat on the board please email their name and a short (one paragraph) statement of nomination to hhe@indiana.edu by November 17, 2007. Please title the subject of your email “SAB Nomination.”

Campus Captains

One student from each Indiana University campus is selected each year to serve as the Campus Captain. The Campus Captains work as liaisons between the student body at their respective campuses and the Office of Government Relations and Hoosiers for Higher Education. The Captains are asked to work with the Alumni Relations Director on their campus to develop student engagement efforts. The Captains also work with Hoosiers for Higher Education to carry out specific grassroots advocacy initiatives. The Captains are traditionally nominated by the student body president, or the equivalent, at the campus.

If you are interested in serving as a Campus Captain in the future please submit your resume to hhe@indiana.edu . Please title the subject of your email “Captain Application.” We will facilitate the process from that point.
